Jase Bowen was promoted to AAA Indy on August 6th. He played his first game yesterday in AAA and did not disappoint.
Jase Bowen was the best hitter in AA Altoona at the time of his promotion to Indianapolis. His .745 OPS led all the Curve's regulars. Among Altoona's regulars only Termarr Johnson and Nick Cimillo has an OPS over .700 with .716 and .706, respectively.
Why NO ONE can hit in Altoona deserves an investigation in of itself. It is also crazy to think the highest OPS at Altoona was Jase Bowen at .745. In his debut in AAA Jase went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, an RBI, a double, home run, and a strikeout. He played Right field.
The Bucs now have Ji Hwan Bae, Jase Bowen, Billy Cook as primarily outfielders with Matt Frazier as a fourth outfielder. The roster also includes Nick Solak and Ronny Simon who get significant time in the outfield as well.
This may mean a callup is happening soon with Solak and Bae as the only two non-prospects from the outfield group.
