After yesterday's sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies Don Kelly is back to .500 as the Pirates manager. He has a record of 14 and 14 since taking over as Pirates manager.

Don Kelly's first game as the Pirates manager was on May 9th this year and ended with a nail-biter 3-2 victory at PNC Park. Kelly was promoted from the team's bench coach which he held since December 7th 2019.

The Pirates are scoring slightly more runs under Kelly than Shelton, but still it is nowhere enough runs. The bullpen has been slightly worse overall under Kelly than Shelton this year. An argument can be made that the Pirates have had the second best pitching staff in the national league since Don Kelly took over as manager. The Bucs arms during that time is second in WAR in the NL, second in ERA, second in FIP, and second in HR/9. They are behind the Giants in all of these metrics. The Pirates rotation lead the NL in ERA during this time.
